Zancla Law Firm, founded in 2001, is located in Palermo, on via dei Nebrodi 86. Initially it consisted of two lawyers and an intern.
Since the beginning, the law firm has dealt with criminal law, medical malpractice and the compensation of civil damages related to this issue. Our law firm has represented hundreds of people infected from HCV and HIV (and their heirs) in a criminal case against the Italian state, in relation to the offenses of harmful and culpable epidemics, due to the mismanagement of infected blood in the 70s and 80s.
In addition, the law firm has defended the same clients in a class action against the pharmaceutical companies Baxter and Bayer filed in the Chicago Court of Justice (Illinois).
In 2004 the law firm moved to its current location - on via Pignatelli Aragona 86 - and gradually expanded the number of internal and external collaborators and interns. Since then, the firm has mainly dealt with criminal law, prevention measures and most of all health law.
The law firm has therefore dealt with numerous cases of medical malpractice - real or presumed - assisting public hospitals, private clinics, doctors as well as victims of medical malpractice or their heirs.
In 2013, the law firm set up an office in Catania, on Corso Sicilia 105. Today it’s planning to open a third office in the province of Agrigento, and to implement an ambitious development strategy, focused on Sustainability: environmental, social, economic.
